International Petition campaign to Protect the dugong in Okinawa
(2002-2007)
"We required to withdraw the existing plans to construct a
U.S. military base facility, that will destroy the habitat of
the northernmost dugong."
1. Withdraw plans to construct a US air base
which will destroy the habitat of the Northernmost dugong.
2. Immediately take action to preserve the environment of Okinawa and save
the dugong under the responsibility of the Japanese government.
Since October 2002, we have petitioned for these demands and 13,479 signatures
from people all over the world have been collected.
We submitted it to the Japanese Government in June 2007.
